Is Summer Camp 2022 going ahead?

We are eagerly looking forward to summer camp in 2022. Although there may still be uncertainty about what the upcoming months may hold, we are preparing and planning for an exciting summer of outdoor activities, fun themes and great friendship connections for campers.

Children have been indoors and isolated and socially distant from friends. Camp can play a key role in the months and years ahead in helping children. More than ever, this generation of children will need to have camp as a place to be outdoors, strengthen social skills and for their personal and spiritual well-being.

If the government extends social distancing or changes the school year, we will have to re-evaluate the summer camp season. We will communicate with you any updates as needed.

What are you doing to ensure camper safety and What COVID protocols are going to be in place during the summer?

We know that you put your trust in us when you send your child to camp.

Safety and staff training has always been a priority for us, but in 2022, they take on a new dimension. Please see below all precautions and guidelines that we will be following.

What is the COVID Cancellation Policy for summer camp?

The current COVID Cancellation Policy includes the following, please be aware that these conditions may change as the COVID-19 situation changes over the upcoming months.

If camp capacity numbers are further reduced due to Government COVID restrictions, the camp may have to reduce enrollment in registration. Priority registrations will be given by the date of registration; those who have registered first and confirmed their registration with payment of the registration fee will retain their registration.

Once we have reached our capacity, a waitlist will be set up and the applicant will be placed on it. If the camp is not full your registration can be accepted.

In the event camp is cancelled due to a COVID outbreak or there are government mandates to shut down camp for the season, camp fees will be refunded in full.

If the parent/guardian/participant chooses to withdraw their camp registration over COVID restrictions, regular cancellation policies will be in effect. You may see these policies here: Camp  Cancellation Policy

Registration must be confirmed by July 25, 2022. Full camp payment is needed by July 30, 2022

Withdrawal during camp on doctor’s orders will result in the value of fees for the unexpired term being refunded.

Wellness screening (COVID) will be conducted at departure points on the day of camp. If there is any indication of being unwell, we have the right and responsibility to deny acceptance into camp. It is expected that the health information provided upon arrival is current, accurate and complete.

Parents/guardians are responsible for informing the camp if their child(ren) has come into contact with a positive COVID-19 case within 1week of the start of camp.

It is recommended that campers not travel 2 weeks prior to the start camp.

If any illness occurs while at camp, and the camper requires isolation, the participant at camp will be isolated until travel arrangements can be made. The parents/guardian/participant are responsible for providing transportation home from camp as immediately as possible.

If a camper shows COVID symptoms they will be quarantined and a rapid-PCR test  administered. If found positive they will be kept in quarantine until transportation can be arranged.

It is important for parents/guardians/participants to be fully aware of the risks and hazards with respect to COVID-19 inherent in attendance and participation in the activities at camp.

Arrival Screening Questions

  • At each point of departure we will check for temperature and ask some questions about your health.
  • While children and teens have a lower risk of developing  COVID symptoms we have to consider those who need to take particular precautions. If your child is attending camp please make sure we are aware of their health concerns (particularly asthma and other lung/ heart conditions). This will help us to take the necessary precautions in further ensuring their health and safety.

Vaccination

We strongly encourage FULL COVID-19 vaccination for all eligible campers and staff prior to camp. Please indicate whether you have been vaccinated or not on your application form. (please state dates for each dosage.)

Authorized COVID-19 vaccines can help protect you from COVID-19.

Masks & Medication

We ask that all campers pack necessary medication and 3 disposable or reusable masks for our time at camp.

Campers' medication (prescription and vitamins) must arrive individually packed for safe and easy dispensing for our medical team.

While at Camp

Cohorting & Physical Distancing

We are intentionally keeping the number of campers small. The number of campers at this camp is limited to 50. All gathering sizes will meet current public health guidelines, and outdoor spaces will be used and prioritized whenever possible

  • If you are wearing a mask: You can cough or sneeze into your mask. Put on a new, clean mask as soon as possible and wash your hands. If you are not wearing a mask always cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or use the inside of your elbow and do not spit.
  • Throw used tissues in the trash.
  • Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
